Tech Tips

In this section you will find useful tips for using technology. If you have some useful tips, please add them in the comments section.
Tip #1
When you are working on a school project or assignment don't forget to save often. You can also use a memory stick, email a copy to yourself and/or store it in Google Drive. You can also access files from home by going to the OCDSB website and logging in to My Docs - Active Directory: https://mydocs.ocdsb.ca/
Tip #2
Now that you know how to use Google Drive, I recommend you setup your own Google Calendar. That way you can copy events from my calendar to yours. Set it up so that you receive a text or email 1 day prior to events. You'll never miss a deadline!
Tip #3
ctrl + z = undo
ctrl + c = copy

To keep track of - and remember - all of your school passwords, go to File Cabinet and download the document called 'My crazy list of passwords'. Fill it out and print it. Once printed, delete the document just to be safe.
Tip #5
Attached below (PDF), is a list of ALT codes for French characters and accents.
Here are useful shortcuts, to zoom in/out on your display (what you are seeing on the screen), to adjust the size of the text or image.
1. While holding the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard, scroll the mouse wheel up/forward to zoom in and scroll down/back to zoom out.
2. While holding the 'Ctrl' key on your keyboard, press the '+' or '-' keys (below F9 - F10) to zoom in or out.
Tip #7
Want to speak to your computer and have it write in French for you? Follow these steps:
